Motionnet là một hệ thống truyền thông nối tiếp tốc độ cao bao gồm thẻ Master và các mô-đun Slave.
ICP DAS cung cấp hai loại Slaves: loại thứ nhất được sử dụng cho I/ O kỹ thuật số và loại còn lại được sử dụng để điều khiển chuyển động. Có 3 loại mô-đun I / O kỹ thuật số chính: Đầu vào 32 kênh, Đầu ra 32 kênh và Đầu vào/ ra 16 kênh. Sử dụng các thiết bị Slave này, các thiết bị truyền động / cảm biến của khách hàng có thể dễ dàng được kết nối trực tiếp. Mô-đun điều khiển chuyển động có thể được sử dụng cùng với động cơ Servo hoặc động cơ Bước từ nhiều nhà cung cấp khác nhau.
Giao tiếp Motionnet giữa Master và Slave dựa trên công nghệ RS-485 độc quyền (Multi-drop, Half-duplex) và mang lại lợi thế về việc giảm yêu cầu đi dây cùng với khả năng truyền thông đường dài và tốc độ cao. Truyền dữ liệu cho các module I/ O là xác định theo chu kỳ và thời gian, vì vậy có thể được sử dụng rộng rãi cho các ứng dụng tự động hóa công nghiệp.
