PAC là từ viết tắt của “Programmable Automation Controller”, tạm dịch: bộ điều khiển tự động hóa lập trình được. PAC là sự kết hợp những tinh túy của PLC và PC để tạo nên một nền tảng truyền tải chức năng lớn hơn, độ mở rộng hơn và linh hoạt cao hơn. PAC có tất cả các tính năng mà PLC có và còn được bổ xung thêm một số tính năng riêng biệt khác.
Các sản phẩm PAC kết hợp chức năng và tính mở của PC, độ tin cậy của bộ điều khiển logic khả trình (PLC) và sự thông minh của các mô-đun I/ O với các công cụ phần mềm linh hoạt cho nhiều ứng dụng từ thu thập dữ liệu, điều khiển quá trình, điều khiển chuyển động hay quản lý năng lượng, tự động hóa toà nhà…
